The sun was shining bright today
I climbed right out of bed,
Excited for my special day
I knelt and bowed my head.

I prayed for peace and comfort
as I knew that I would be,
Visiting a special place
a house of eternity.

I packed up special clothes to wear
for only white is worn,
To represent the pure and clean
are welcome in this home.

The morn was cold an icy chill
from winters frosty air,
made me shiver from head to toe
as I journeyed there.

But when I arrived upon the gate
and entered in the door,
This special home was filled with warmth
I felt the cold no more.

Sweet faces, familiar, like friends I saw
all about this home,
Smiling angels, guiding hands
such love I've never known.

As felt when welcomed in the place
where Christ dwells everyday,
Can you guess where I have been?
Are you going there someday?

Ode to a family fish

Water world and plastic castles
algae covered skies
Golden fin and fishy kisses
bulging bulbous eyes

Let me in your water world
with treasure chest surprise
Let me out
to swim about
your water color skies.
